What's this all about?

In the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" world of entertainment we live in, many great talents go under appreciated. Photographers, writers, and musicians spend a great deal of energy trying to share their art form with the world, often with little success. At SMACart.com, our goal is to provide a forum for artists and appreciators of art to get a daily dose of what the main stream media overlooks. Many existing media websites are so large that user's submissions get lost in vast expanse of their servers, never giving some of the most talented a chance to be showcased.

This is where SMACart.com will differentiate from the rest. I hope to offer an opprotunity for those looking for an artistic outlet, to submit their work to help gain exposure, all while maintaining full copyright of their work. Whether you have a website, blog, or even a twitter account you want to share with the world, our goal is to help get your name out there, free of charge.

What type of art work do you accept?

I accept photography, writings, and in some cases music. All submissions should be sent to admin@smacart.com. Feel free to send anything you wish to share with the world, but keep the vulgar stuff to yourself. There are plenty of other websites for that. Most importantly, only send original material! If you do not own it, don't send it. Read below to learn about what you can submit.

General:    Along with your submission, make sure you add your name (or handle), title of your work, your website/facebook/photo page/email, and any other information you think is important. Only submit your own work! You're risking copyright infringement by trying to pass off other people's work as your own.

Photographers:    Feel free to submit any style of photography you feel will help promote your website/blog/career. All submissions should be sent to admin@smacart.com as an attachment. I will tend to post landscape, urban, HDR, and nature photography, but am open to any style. It is highly unlikely I will post modeling pictures or pictures of poor quality. Keep composition and quality in mind as this will be meant to help you gain exposure. Aim for an image resolution of at least 800 x 600 pixels and only submit JPG and GIF files.

Writers:    SMACart will accept short stories, non-fiction, fiction, social commentary, and anything that is interesting. Your words are your art, so submit what others will enjoy. No political or religious tirades please. Copy and pasting your content into the body of an email, in proper formatting, is sufficient. I won't download or open word documents, so don't send them. Please keep your submission to a reasonable length.

Musicians:    As of right now, I will probably post photography and writing most of the time. But, if your music is truly unique and well composed, I'd be happy to post an MP3 of your song and any other information to help promote your band. If I don't link to your band, don't feel left out.


Can I link the material on SMACart.com to my website or facebook/myspace/twitter/etc...?

Absolutely. There are buttons to help you share your favorite content found on SMACart.com. But as a service to those who submit their material, don't just copy and paste pictures and writings. Help the artists get the exposure they deserve and link their content page.

I have a website of my own. Do you exchange links?
